APPLICATIONS Applications that simplify your operations and serve your clients.
An application when off-the-shelf software stops being enough
Updated
Most businesses don't need an application. They need a good website and a well-configured existing tool, and that's what we tell them. Custom development becomes relevant at a specific moment: when your operations run in a shared spreadsheet three people edit at once, when you're paying licences for a tool you use 10% of, or when no product on the market does what your trade actually requires.
A custom application is justified by what it saves you, not by its technical sophistication. Before writing code, we systematically check whether an existing solution (often Odoo, which we also implement) covers the need at a fraction of the cost. Building something that already exists is the fastest way to spend a budget for nothing.
When custom really is the answer, we ship in usable increments rather than one block six months later. You see the first version working early, you try it with your teams, and what you learn in real use corrects the rest of the build. It's the most reliable way to avoid the technically successful application nobody uses.
The code belongs to you and is handed over, documented. You're not locked to a single provider: if you ever decide to give maintenance to someone else, they can pick it up without starting from scratch.

Our methodology
From Concept to Deployment
A structured process that ensures your application meets your real needs and is delivered on time.
Plan Your ApplicationWhat a project includes
Scope varies enormously from one project to the next. The items below are part of every development engagement we take on.
- An upfront analysis of your actual processes, including a recommendation not to build if an existing solution will do.
- Interactive mockups validated before development, so usability gets fixed while it's still free.
- Development in shippable increments, with regular demos rather than a single delivery at the end.
- Authentication, access-rights management and encryption of sensitive data, aligned with Quebec's Law 25 requirements.
- Automated backups and a tested restore plan: a backup never restored is not a backup.
- Technical documentation and training for your users, plus support after go-live.
How a build unfolds
-
Discovery and scoping
We look at how you work today, where the time is lost and what absolutely must be preserved. It's also the stage where we tell you frankly if an off-the-shelf tool would do the job.
1 to 3 weeks
-
Prototype and validation
Clickable mockups of the main screens, tested with the people who'll use the tool daily. Usability fixes made here cost a fraction of what they cost once built.
2 to 4 weeks
-
Iterative development
Short cycles with a demo at the end of each. You watch the application take shape and can redirect along the way, rather than discovering a mismatch at final delivery.
2 to 6 months
-
Deployment and support
Security testing, migration of your existing data, team training and go-live. We stay available afterwards: it's in real use that the last adjustments surface.

Frequently asked questions
Web app or mobile app?
In most business cases a well-built web application is enough: it works on phone and desktop, updates instantly for everyone and avoids app-store approval delays. Native mobile becomes necessary when you need offline operation, push notifications or access to device hardware (camera, GPS, sensors).
How long does building an application take?
A first useful internal tool often ships in two to three months. A full platform with several user types and integrations into existing systems takes six months or more. We deliver in increments: you have something functional well before the complete project ends.
How much does a custom application cost?
Pricing is quoted after the scoping phase, because a serious estimate requires understanding your processes first. Getting a number before that analysis means getting an estimate that will double along the way. The upfront analysis pins down the real scope, and you're free to stop there.
Who owns the code once the project is done?
You do. The source code is handed over with its documentation, and access to servers and third-party services is in your name. We keep no technical lock forcing you to stay a client.
What happens after launch?
An application is alive: browsers evolve, dependencies get security patches and your needs change. We offer ongoing support covering updates, monitoring and enhancements. It isn't mandatory, but an application left unmaintained for two years becomes expensive to catch up.
Can you connect to our existing systems?
Yes, it's often the core of the engagement. We connect to accounting systems, ERPs (including Odoo, which we also implement), payment gateways and most tools that expose an API. When a legacy system offers none, we assess the options before committing, never after.
